Suggested Home Care
Using high quality, salon products will extend the life of your hair extensions. Regardless, shampoos must be sulfate-free and conditioners must be kept away from the sewn weft area. When applying conditioner, gather hair in a low ponytail at the back of the neck and condition from this area down. Keep other products that contain high amounts of alcohol, oily or waxy products away from sewn weft area as well. Hair oils and moisturising treatments are highly recommended. Speak to your stylist to discuss the best products for your extensions.
It is especially important to be gentle with your hair extensions. They are attached to small amounts of your own hair. While hair extensions themselves will not harm your hair, rough handling of them will pull your hair and may cause damage.
Brush extensions 2-3 times a day with the recommended hair extension brush. Start at the bottom and work your way up to avoid damage to your extensions. Always pull extensions into a covered hair tie or braid while sleeping. Never go to bed with wet hair. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase is highly recommended.
You will need a maintenance appointment every 6-8 weeks to have wefts moved up. Failure to move up extensions regularly may result in a higher-than-expected cost for reapplication.
Curling irons, flat irons and hot rollers may be used, but keep in mind that extensions are made with human hair they will damage as such, using heat protectant products are strongly recommended to prevent damage and split ends.
Salt water and chlorine can cause damage, dryness and discolouration like your own hair. To minimize these effects, wet hair completely in a shower and apply a conditioner to the ends. After swimming, shampoo and condition as normal.
In order to extend the life of your extensions it is recommended to only wash every 2- 3 days if not longer. Most clients find that they have to wash their hair less often with extensions especially with the aid of a dry shampoo.
Some extension shedding is normal and to be expected. Average client hair loss is 50-150 hairs a day. A full head application covers approximately one third of the head. You can expect to see naturally released hairs trapped in the attachments after some time. This is normal and should not be interpreted as hairs pulled from the scalp by the extensions themselves.
The client cannot hold the stylist or hair extension company responsible for any loss of natural hair. As the client, you confirm that you understand that natural hair shedding is normal and expected when your extensions are removed, and it is the hair that you would have lost naturally.
There are no exchanges on hair extensions once the hygiene seal is removed from the package.
There are no refunds on hair extension application fees.
You confirm that if you find hair extensions uncomfortable, you are responsible for the cost of removing them. Hair extensions will then be given to client to take home.
The installing stylist will ensure you are happy and agreeable with colour(s) of the hair extensions purchased prior to applying them. If there is an error on behalf of the stylist this error will be correct at no cost to the client. Note: A change of mind about a colour or other extension aspect does not constitute a correction due to error. Therefore, adjustments will be treated as a new service.
If colouring or toning is necessary to the extensions, the cost of the colouring service will be in addition to the cost of the extensions and will be paid on the day of application.
If at any time a section of weft becomes loose, the client is welcome to have the loosened area sewn tighter at no additional cost. Please note, moving an entire row after expect growth time does not constitute as a loose section and will be billable accordingly to maintenance packages and cost found on our website.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% + tax of the total extension service fee is required prior to booking your extension application appointment. You may rebook your appointment up to 48 hours before the original appointment time without any fee, cancellation within the 48 threshold is billable at $200.00 + tax prior to rebooking.
The remainder of extension fee + tax, and or any additional fee(s) prior discussed / provided is due the day of application. Our application packages include the cost of cutting and styling of the extensions to blend only.
Maintenance appointments do not require a deposit. Ordering new extensions will require a deposit but not a new contract. All left over hair is owned by the client and can be stored in salon or taken home. Note: we do not recommend taking hair home.
You may rebook your maintenance appointment up to 24 hours before the original appointment time without any fee, cancellation within the 24 threshold is billable depending on maintenance package booked.

Thank you for submitting your request for a hair extension consultation appointment at Gloss Studio. We are excited to be part of your journey to the hair of your dreams. Our next step together is to book a in person consultation to map out your colour, length and get any additional information or questions you may have out of the way.
A consultation is $30.00 + tax and will take approximately 30 mins. If you decide to proceed with booking, a 50% deposit is required in order to book your extension installation appointment. This deposit is non-refundable once your hair has been purchased.
